Government Grants

I’m a freshman in college who was able to stay home and not have to work so that I may take on a full load. Recently, my mom became ill and was hospitalized and has since had to quit her job due to the job causing stress and really making her sick. So, now that the semester has already started suddenly my family can’t pay bills. I can’t seem to get hired for any job since my schedule prevents working the majority of a week.
Are there grants and/or loans the government can give me to help me pay for my expenses? I’ve tried doing research to find any but I can’t seem to locate them! I need money FAST! My parents don’t have very good credit so i’m afraid I’m just out of luck!
